The whole point of historiography is to show the debate amongst historians on a particular subject. This article is intended to make you think carefully about the issue so that you can strike a sensible balance in the essays you write. A good historiography is written from a position of authority on a topic. It should bring together the main points and should leave the reader with a question to consider. Your historiography should establish: the major thinkers on the topic, and their main arguments (or theses). I will not hold you to this, but I would suggest that you be mindful of the relationship between synthesis and analysis in your essay.
